Seminar:
The seminar last weekend was a huge success with 91 attendees, who were chatty and contributed well to the day. We've had indications from Judges and members alike that they were keen on using the SMART approach in creating and evaluating images. If anyone wants a copy, it is available at
www.psq.org.au/education/smarts.pdf . The attendees said they had a wonderful day and would report back to their club to encourage more members to attend the next one in the early part of the new year. It's theme may be "Finding Inspiration" and held on a Sunday which may be better for most, probably late March.
DVDs of Seminars:
The DVDs of the many sessions at the Stanthorpe forum is now available for $80 which amortised over the number of members and future members of a club to view as workshops, is very reasonable I hope you agree. They're listed on the web site under Education/DVDs in the navigation bar on the left. Send a cheque to PSQ and an email to me and we'll send them out to you. The cost includes postage and handling.
The PSQ Convention will be available soon and the recent seminar soon after.
New judges:
It would be very helpful if you could be on the lookout for Apprentices and Understudy prospects towards being new judges. We need this in place to secure sufficient numbers of judges for the future. Details of this can be seen on the web site under "Judge's Scheme" in the navigation bar on the left.
Also the Understudies are listed separately to make it easier for you to find them and we encourage you to use these talented new people.
New Web Site:
We have a new look web site still at
www.psq.org.au which will hold more resources such as articles, tutorials and so on. The judge's List is now sorted by area to make it easier for clubs to find someone. They can still look everywhere of course. The active judges and contact details are now correct and up to date. If you find any anomalies, please let me know. It also has the facility to click on a judge's surname which brings up a small page that has a photo and more info about the person.
Library:
We are storing helpful articles on the site (have a look at what we've got so far) and we're also looking at interactive tutorials, the first of which may be on Nature, which seems to be a needed topic. If you have or know of an article or resource we can use, let me know.
Club Galleries:
The new PSQ site now has the facility to provide clubs who don't have their own site or gallery to have one on PSQ"s site. Check out Noosa's gallery. Email or call me for details on setting one up.
The team is doing their best to make it easier for judges to provide qualified services to clubs and to provide seminars and other resources to clubs, and any ideas in this direction would be welcome. In fact, any feedback whether constructive criticism or positive would be most welcome.
All the best,
Regards, Adrian
